Teaching Grammar Innovatively was conducted by experienced trainer Ms. Neoline from Parisar
Asha on 9 th June 2017. The objective of the training was to get an overview of some of the grammar
topics. Twelve teachers from Sharon attended the training session which involved fun activities and
interactive exercises. It was a refresher course for teachers who have been teaching English
Grammar for many years. Most of the topics under ‘ Parts of Speech’ was discussed through
innovative activities and short stories. One of the highlights of the session was writing task assigned
to teachers on the topic ‘Kiwis’, which turned out to be a challenging topic for most of us. Many
topics were discussed for writing tasks for learners from std. I to V.
Overall, the session was very beneficial and innovative. We were fortunate enough to attend it
before the academic year started and we move on with grammar topics. We feel more confident to
teach grammar innovatively in our classrooms.
